Disney moving forward with TRON-3!
[TerrHimself]Attention programs and users: Disney has reportedly signed on Jesse Wigutow to write the script and thanks to the new head of Disney Studios, Alan Horn, this has been put this on the fast track to production.
Tron:Legacy's director, Joseph Kosinski is expected to return for the sequel and Justin Springer, a co-producer on Legacy, is producing Tron-3. An early draft of TRON-3 was written by David Digilo more than a year ago, but it would appear that Disney didn't think much of it.
We can expect to hear about Jeff Bridges, Garrett Hedlund, Olivia Wilde, and Bruce Boxleitner returning. *Crosses fingers* And from the look of the teasers in the DVD/BluRay, Cillian Murphy should be a lock for a villain role. If the Powers-That-Be paid any attention to the fan outcry, Lora/Yori played by Cindy Morgan should return. *Crosses fingers tighter*
2010's Tron:Legacy currently holds a 50% on Rotten Tomato and generally lackluster reviews praising the visuals and marking the less than compelling characters. It did however earn over $400 Million in the box office and spawn the successful Tron:Uprising cartoon series. We'll be interested in seeing if TRON3 incorporates elements from the cartoon which features the voices of Bruce Boxleitner, Olivia Wilde, Elijah Wood, Mandy Moore, Emmanuelle Chriqui, and Tricia Helfer.
